Marsala is the new neutral for 2015!
For those of you that don’t know, as described in the About Us section on the Pantone website, “The PANTONE® name is known worldwide as the standard language for color communication from designer to manufacturer to retailer to customer.” In the fashion industry, we rely on Pantone colors all the time – we have huge books containing little swatches of color and we can communicate the color codes to vendors overseas. Pantone colors are a universal language. Every year, Pantone chooses a “color of the year”. Once they announce the color of the year, THAT is the color you will see everywhere – from fashion to beauty to interior design. If you would like to learn more about their process for how they choose the color each year, watch here.
For 2015, the color is Marsala – an earthy wine red that is flattering against any skin tone! Check out “color pairings” that combine well with Marsala, by clicking here (scroll down a little).
In the collage above, I have provided you with 3 products, that are toxin free, that you can purchase online in the Marsala hue. I have not yet tried 2 of these brands myself, but I did do research on them and other non toxic beauty bloggers have great things to say!
3. Illia Lipstick, in Femme Fatale.
Fashion Side Note: Suede, believe it or not, is predicted to be a big trend THIS SUMMER… I’m already imagining a pair of suede shoes, suede shorts, or even a beautiful suede jacket – in MARSALA – making its way into my closet, very soon! Imagine all the vintage fashion you can find in this color too…
In the collage below, I have provided you with 3 products that you can find right now at most drugstores – in MARSALA! Although I usually try to use toxin free products, I’m not perfect, and if you’re anything like me, when I get excited about something, I want it NOW! You can do head-to-toe Marsala if you’d like (see picture below), or if you want to pair it with other colors, don’t forget to check out Marsala’s perfect color pairings as mentioned and linked above.
Now get out there and start representing this amazing color!
